LES analysis of the influence of micro vortex generators geometry and position on the control of shock wave/boundary layer interaction

In order to evaluate the potential of micro vortex generators (mVGs) in mitigating low-frequency streamwise oscillations of the separation bubble and the associated load fluctuations at the wall appearing in shock/boundary layer interaction (SBLI), a high-fidelity LES database has been generated. Several mVGs heights and distances from the interaction system are considered, allowing to investigate how the geometrical parameters of the control devices affect the efficiency of the control regarding the size of the separated area, the pressure loads on the wall and the unsteady properties of the SBLI.
